Intro to Permaculture workshop

Nelson and Tasman

Join us for a one day workshop on all that is Permaculture.

The course is suitable for beginners and intermediates. The course is highly interactive, so more experienced Permaculture enthusiasts are encouraged to participate, and are as likely to gain something, as add to the course :)

The aim of our course is to share knowledge and to spread Permaculture practice, and also to build and bind our local Permaculture and eco-conscious community.

- Permaculture Theory and Principles of Design

- Observe and Interact with our 3 year old Permaculture site

- Design Practical: be guided through the design process, using maps of your own site to practice

- Soil and Food Growing: The basic theory and how to apply the method that best suits you and your site

- Get hands on with waste systems, composting, seed saving or food growing

Te Paranui Permaculture Homestead
1310 State Highway 1, Koromiko

We are a young project, only three years running. Our aim is to create a Permaculture example site and learning centre.
We are situated alongside the Para wetlands in the wet clay valley of Koromiko. Our site includes waste management, seed saving, plant nursery, vegetable gardens, food forest, eco-grazing and all of the inter-linking systems that go with these.

Dan has been managing this site since 2017. He has been learning, helping with and practicing Permaculture on various sites around the world since 2012. He received his PDC from Permaculture South Africa in 2015. He values good design and careful planning, this is reflected in this interactive and hands on course.
