
This one-day practical workshop is part of a series of sessions linked to the Matakana Modular Permaculture Design Certificate Course presented by experienced permaculture teachers, Trish Allen and Guenther Andraschko. Anyone is welcome to attend the Practical Workshop days to gain hands-on skills related to permaculture practices.
In this workshop, we will cover the basics of growing your own organic veggies in 3 simple steps: Prepare, Plant, Nourish. Everything you need to know to build confidence in your growing skills, including soil fertility, crop rotation and companion planting.
We’ll also cover saving our own seeds through the system of collecting, processing and storing.
Course Cost:
If you are not attending the full certified PDC, individual theory or practical workshops can be attended at @ $155 each or $130 for three or more (payable in advance). Anyone is welcome to attend!

About the main tutor for this workshop:
Trish Allen is a Permaculture NZ affiliated teacher and holds a Diploma in Permaculture. She has over 30 years’ experience as a permaculture practitioner including establishing the award-winning Rainbow Valley Farm with her late husband Joe Polaischer. The farm demonstrated permaculture in action and inspired thousands. Trish has now moved on and established a village-scale model of permaculture and shares her knowledge by teaching permaculture-related courses and workshops. She is also co-founder of Mahurangi Wastebusters which aims to divert waste from landfill and promotes a circular economy.
