This 14 session course offers a hands-on year of fundamental growing skills. Seasonally appropriate curriculum includes plant propagation, summer and winter pruning, understanding soils, pests, diseases, weed management, companion planting, planting for insect retention and crop management.
This course is suitable for those interested in growing a few more veges and fruit trees as well as those with a profit from harvest in mind.
Permaculturalist and horticulture tutor Kazel Cass will lead a Saturday (starts 22 June) and Tuesday course ( starts 18 June), with parent friendly hours from 9:30-2:30.
This course is designed to coordinate with the Plenty Permaculture Design Course and be a precursor for the horticulture level four course available at the BOP polytech. Any of the three courses can be done together or sequently for a sound education in permaculture and horticulture.
